The Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2 is a next-generation smart sensor that supports the Matter protocol over Thread, making it a future-ready solution for seamless integration across all major smart home ecosystems, including Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings. Designed with privacy and precision in mind, the Motion and Light Sensor P2 brings enhanced responsiveness, energy efficiency, and multi-platform compatibility to your home automation setup.With a wide detection range and ultra-low latency, the sensor can detect motion within 170° up to 2 meters and 150° up to 7 meters, making it perfect for automating lights, security routines, and energy-saving features. The built-in light sensor also enables advanced control based on ambient brightness—ideal for optimizing lighting conditions automatically.The device features a 360-degree adjustable mount for flexible installation, allowing you to target motion detection exactly where you need it. Three levels of sensitivity (low, medium, high) allow you to fine-tune the sensor based on room size, layout, and purpose. Additionally, the trigger cooldown time is configurable from 1 to 200 seconds, offering full control over response behavior.

Unlike previous models, the P2 does not require an Aqara Hub if you're using a Matter-compatible Thread Border Router (like Apple HomePod mini or Google Nest Hub), making setup even easier for modern smart homes.
